It depends on the woman and what policies she would bring to the office. Compassion and understanding are fine, really they are, but some times a Pres. has to be a real hard azz when it is called for.

It would still be a 2 sided political debate fest, just like you are seeing right now for instance... There should be no difference if a qualified woman is running. But got help us if it is Hillary. I would have no problem with Mikulski or Rice.

I agree with Marybgirl, but the only woman currently in politics I would vote for to be President is Condoleezza Rice.

That's silly. Historically, women leaders have been pretty murderous ( witness Hillary).
And as far as compassion and understanding, save that for your afternoons with Oprah.

Not me, it's too soon for a woman president.
Geez, all but one of our presidents have had Anglo Saxon heritage. How about a Catholic male president? We've on ly had one of those.

I don't think it could get much worse!
Honestly, I think the US would be much better off with a woman in the presidency.

Any coutry could use a "Mother" heading the state. So far, every president that called himself "Father" was a warmonger

I wouldn't care what gender the president was, as long as he/she put our national interests and security first and foremost, and wasn't so concerned about "international opinion."
I still get angry when I recall Kerry's statement that all American foreign policy must first be approved by "passing the global test."
