Because it's the plain Jane American people who have grown up in middle-class America, and obviously have more experience with how daily life is. The ones who are in government grew up as rich kids, and usually have no idea what a normal worker deals with.

I can see buffman31 is a typical capitalist who cares nothing about the working class, these types of people are the enemies of true Americans. You need money and connections in order to start a political career, our government is set-up this way in order to keep freethinkers and the average joe from becoming powerful and a norm, very few in Washington are there because of hardwork and being honest, its all about the money and always has been. The government keeps most americans busy with work and comsumption, giving little time for most to think clearly about how this country is being sold out from under us. And dont forget about the fear, the fear our government creates in order to control how we think and feel. Rule #1:Never believe a thing our government tells us, everything they say is a lie. If you think this country is going in the right direction, you are not paying attention, you are stupid, or you are a part of the problem. Get invovled!! SPEAK!!!

partly because of the fact the ordinary citizen does no longer have each and every of the techniques the government does. like the previous announcing approximately there constantly being 2 aspects to the story. We purely don't get to pay attention maximum, if any, of the different edge. yet, the actuality that any you are able to truly no longer purely make evaluations yet state them out loud in blended company is what makes this usa one in all those super place. no rely in case you compromise with or disagree with the government, you are able to say so the two way and not hassle approximately some "secret police" workers coming to take you away interior the midst of the night. And, base line, once you're a citizen and are confident sufficient which you're able to do a greater advantageous pastime than the government, you are able to attempt and pass take it over by ability of turning into area of it. Ours is probably going one in all the few governments that's set as much as be "overthrown" by ability of its electorate, a minimum of in a non-violent way. with regard to the only exception to that's to be the President, you mustn't purely be a citizen, you are able to have been born one. yet any pastime in Congress is open to any citizen assembly the age requirement; purely get your call on the poll.

They couldn't do any worse than what we have in the White House right now.
I'd make a safe bet that they wouldn't be so interested in special interest lobbyists' money.
I bet they'd be better equipped to balance the budget. Take better care of the homefront. Most regular people would know a better way of running the government, than those leading us right now. And that's not just taxi drivers, and cosmetologists, it would also include people in the teaching industry, steel-workers, housewives, and hamburger flippers, all walks of life.

That is the problem everyone wants to criticize and say how they would do everything, make changes etc. but no one wants to take the job. We need more people to run for Government jobs, people who would never consider it but have the intelligence and understanding should get up get going and run for office. There would be more choices and hopefully more honesty in the government.

You could have asked why the people who know the most about psychology are bartenders.

I think it's because the politicians, in general, were born on third base and go through life thinking they hit a triple. They are too far removed from the daily grind of trying to make ends meet and keep your head afloat on a week to week basis.

Statistics, polls and a college degrees are one thing - trying to juggle a budget when energy costs go off the chart is an entirely different thing - one they've never experienced.

I totally agree with you. Judging by most of the answers since they have misspellings, grammatical errors, & what have you. Also, most of them do not list sources, which I do. Maybe that's how slick Willies like Bill Clinton got elected by uneducated morons who swallow everything CBS (Dan Rather got fired for lying about Pres. Bush), NBC, CNN, & MSNBC espouse. I don't believe everything I see on TV or read in the papers. I check it out from reliable sources (at least 3 or more).

Because they have never had to deal with all the political BS that goes with running a government. If they involve themselves in politics you'd see that they would no longer "know how to run a government".

And remember: "In theory, Communism works."

If those people had any brains at all, they wouldn't be driving taxis and cutting hair for a living.

Why don't you lump working a Burger King in there, same kind of job.
