Well I don't know what you'll think of this but if you take a pole ,,,,, Black inmates out number white inmates ,,,, I'm not saying that that signifies any right or wrong with either race ,,,,,I do know this ,,, that the political system should have to bear a good portion of the responsibility for problems related to the over crowding of our prisons ,,,,, After Regan took office in 1980 ,,,, He and his corportate pals closed down jobs right here in this country and put a big percentage of jobless Americans on the street and sent those jobs over seas ,,,,,,, Unions started to take a nose dive starting with the air traffic controllers ,,,,, and the crime rate nation wide tripled ,,,,,, I remember seeing a documentary about taxi drivers ,,,,, This one woman said that when she saw that the person that ordered a taxi was a black male shoddily dressed ,,, she drove off before he had a chance to get in ,,,,,, There were even some black drivers that say they've done the same thing though and wouldn't hesitate to do it again either ,,,,He also admitted that he's more nervous in his own neighborhook than anywhere else too ,,,,, So I don't know ,,, where do you go from that ,,,,, What is the solution ,,, I guess you could chalk it up to stereotypes I guess ,,,,, You certainly can't control what people think ,,,,,, It's a sad situation at best ,,,,,, But I truely think the government should take some responsibility for it though ,,,,

Sadly, it is true, most African Americans have a lesser chance in life, really because of what happened hundred of years ago. I live in Michigan, and Detroit, is mostly black people; and Michigan is required to accept a certain percent of African Americans into colleges to give them a chance. I don't think that the color of you're skin has anything to do with what you can accomplish. But, you have to admit, stereotypes are stereotypes for a reason... I think African Americans are afraid to escape that stereotype. But I know lots of successful black people. One of my step-cousins dad is black and he has a lot of money. A family across the street from me is also very successful, their dad is a business man. It all depends on where you live really, it's truely sad, quite a bit of the poor neighborhoods in the US are occupied by African Americans and other minority's, because of where they live, and the color of there skin, they automatically have less of chance. It makes me sad.
