Because the Padres have no offense and they happened to have played the Cardinals in the NLDS in back to back seasons. But in 1996 when the Cardinals swept them in the NLDS it was the opposite, the Padres had a shaky four man rotation which was lead by an early Joey Hamilton.

Because they Padres are an overrated club. The NL west is one of the overall worst in all of baseball. If you have a crappy division you still aren't going to have a good chance of doing well in the playoffs.

It's like being the skinniest kid at fat camp. (no offense to anyone)

Honestly they are barely over 500 these past few years that they have made the playoffs and they are not a very good team,no one in the NL West are I'm a D-Back fan I know.

The Cardinals seem to have better pitching. Good pitching is how you win games.

they never have enough scoring power. great pitching and defense with a few manufactured runs is how they win. they should know by now they need 2 big bats in their lineup!
