Yes, Once. It was friday the 13th and I was leaving my apartment to go and visit my sister; when suddenly, I got trapped in my buildings elevator... After an hour and half...I finally was rescued by the firefighters and made it to my sister's building few blocks away. Just my luck... I got stuck in her elevator for 3 hours. I spent most of my day in elevators.

There is no written evidence for a "Friday the 13th" superstition before the 19th century. BUT... Several theories have been proposed about the origin of the Friday the 13th superstition. The number twelve is considered the number of completeness, as reflected in the twelve months of the year, twelve hours of the clock, twelve gods of Olympus, twelve tribes of Israel, twelve Apostles of Jesus, etc., whereas the number thirteen was considered irregular. Friday has been considered an unlucky day at least since the 14th century's The Canterbury Tales. Combined it supposedly make a very inauspicious day. BTW if you google it , you will find it.

My birthday is on August 13th so sometimes my birthday falls on a Friday. I remember one year I was supposed to have a huge party, but there was a thunderstorm and the electric was off during the entire party. Needless to say, it wasn't very fun.

My friend Dexter was born on Friday the 13th, his sister died 14 *close to 13* minutes after wards due to a heart attack.

Back in 1978 my cousin was killed in a truck accident (10-13-78)... he was 25.
