For a weeks vacation, one person, doing the kinds of things people do on vacation, in Vancouver, Canada, you will need at least $600 to $1,000 CAN. Even an inexpensive motel/hotel room outside the city core is going to cost you $60. Meals will cost from $8 to 15 at minimum. Add to that transportation within the city, tourist attractions, souveniers, tips, taxes.

In order to work in Canada, you must have either a work visa or have been granted permanent residency, in which case you will be issued a Social Insurance Number, you cannot get health services, work, rent, or utilities without one.

Right now, the farmers in the Okanagan Valley are desperate for pickers. You can get premium wages for picking, and you can be sponsored for your work visa.
Contact the Canadian consulate for full details.
