Because they're idiots, who refuse to recognize that their team is riding on past glory. Just because your team happens to not be the Toronto maple leafs doesn't mean your team sucks. I like the term Toronto make-beliefs, kinda goes well with the Detroit dead-things. So now we can say that one of the biggest rivalries in the NHL, is between the Toronto make-beliefs and the Detroit dead-things...lol.

Not all Leaf fans are like that most realize that their team has sucked for years.
Unfortunately there are just so many of them that the small percentage of idiots is so noticeable.

I love going to Toronto for games. I make a trip from NY once a year. I think Leaf Fans are great, they know the game and are totally into it. What a great city also. I have to say Flyer fans are the worst.
