More trouble then what is worth. I know from experience. If you do that long enough eventually feelings will be involved.

i think it can be a good idea. Freud believed that most human motivation came from sexual related problems. sex is a great way to release pent up stress and frustrations. sex without guilt or commitment is more fun and exciting. anonymous sex can be even more therapeutic because you can let your hair down (and your clothes) and step outside of the confinement of social stigma. you can let go of all your inhibitions and experience as close to total freedom as you might ever come. i say as long as you both can be discrete so that it does not effect anyone else, have fun and enjoy while you can.
ps i read some of the other answers and decided to ad the fact that both parties get the benefits. it is more of a convenience thing than anything else. and if it bothers you that it is someone you know you could always hire a male escort. some men do and so do some women.

Roof! Roof! Howwoooollll!
Girl!! I'm sure I'll be hearing from you real soon, you'll be wanting to put some Dog!.. eh' hem' 'Friend with Benefits' in my cyberdogpound.
My take on the FWB Thing...., if you can trully handle it....all the way around, head, heart & body??? Go for it !! I can't stop you!!But a word of caution: Little doggies should'nt be sniffin' around in unfamiliar backyards tryin' to make it home or a casual place to do yo' thing when you get the itch cause chances are some other doggie has already marked the territory and may have left a sh*t pile behind that you just might step in."
...So, where's the benefit in that?!?!

Catch ya later! (lol)
roof! (hit me up on 360* if you catch your little doggie behaving badly)

its stupid because its basically dating. what would you consider your boyfriend? 1) hes your friend 2) you have sex with him. friends with benifets is nothing more than DATING! the only difference? you dont CALL him or her your girlfriend/boyfriend, but youre doing the exact same thing as you would with a boyfriend/girlfriend. dumb.....

it's a nice set up as long as you can keep the mentality that it is just sex, there will never be a relationship.

I've had a couple friends with benefits and had no problem just being friends when we've gotten involved with other people.

If you can have sex with someone and not get attached emotionally, there is nothing wrong with that. However, it gets complicated when one gets attached and want more out of the relationship and the other doesn't.
It did not work for me and it doesn't work for a lot of women I know.

I have done it before but it got complicated after awhile as emotions got involved! Wouldnt recommend it in the long run.. It could ruin a friendship..

Its hard. I've done it before and the guy got too attached to me and tried to treat me like I was his girlfriend. 50% of the time one of the two gets too attached to the other.

If your thinking about it... make sure he isn't too good of a friend, or you may wreck your friendship.

Can be very tricky. Great care should be exercised when emotional involvement comes into play.
