Anyone watching the "headbutt" would find the "disgrace" in his actions. But here's the rub. Would you act in the same way, in the heat of the moment, when someone has insulted your family? I don't condone what he did, especially with them being in the professional spotlight, but many of us have let ourselvelves be overwhelmed with the sport we are playing and gone after another player with the intent to injure or get some form of retribution. Zidane did it with soccer, Bertuzzi with hockey, and many others in the sports they play.

you r really making me made rummans. U have never watched a game of soccer in ur life, just admit it. You know absolutely nothing about footy, because i have checked all of ur posts and most of them are about zidane and how u talk about how he got a red-carded. I think you are a disgrace to the name of football, and deserve to be forever banned from the game. Peace out.

I wouldn't use the word disgrace, he is a good player, so bad he , like a lot of players don't realize that they are the kid's idols and whatever they do on the field, kids will imitate. but saying he is a disgrace?!

He was a disgrace during the final match at the world cup...overall he was a great player ....it is a shame that infamous headbutt put his entire career in the thrash....Materazzi thrash talk was completely normal regardless of what he was telling zidane ....the problem was that zidane was not smart enough to just ignore materazzi's insults....

Sometimes words can be more agressive than actions, it is Materazzi the italian player who provoked Zidane to respond this way , not to forget that when the game is intense and stressing a word can trigger action and it did .. I find Zidane a hero

Not me!!!!! I understand an insult to family when I hear one. I am both proud , and protective of my family. Zidane is human, with human flaws, he's not superhuman you know. Zinane loves his family, and he' do what the rest of us would do when an insult is hurled towards our family. I'd beat the freakin head in! Profesional or not! BTY, I revere family before my vocation, and will gladly open up that can of "Whup @$$" on any bloke who disrespects my loved ones. Professional or not, there are some things worth fighting for.
