Yes it's a little long. 3 would be on the long side, 2 would be pushing it. Try to summarize more. Try to eliminate full long sentences and all personal pronouns. Highlight and categorize your strengths, don't explain them.

If it's for college and not a job, 2 pages could work . For a job, usually just one page, is all they can really handle

They go through those resumes VERY fast. The more concise the better.
I'd suggest a site like http://jobsearch.about.com/od/teenstudentgrad/a/studentresume.htm and see sime tips and suggestions that can help make your resume stand out, instead of landing on the dreaded "big stack".

Also some samples at http://www.adventuresineducation.org/HighSchool/Jobs/SampleResumes/index.cfm could help.

Eventually it's your decision. But, show it to a couple of your favorite teachers, or even a counselor. As a good student, they like you!

College app resumes are very different from job hunting resumes...

Your high school resume should look just like a serious employment resume. The colleges want to know how hard you are willing to work at becoming a top notch student. A resume should be ONE page. It is the content that must count. You sound like you are going for a journalism degree by writting a book! I have one degree working on another, sit on five boards, do a ton of community work, have published articles, worked for my self and have multiple hobbies and can still list all of this on ONE page! You need to put the conversation/communication portion of your resume on a COVER sheet (1st page), not on your resume(2nd page). If you must have a third page it should be a list of your personal references. END of resume! They will not take the time to read your resume if it is longer than this. In fact it will most likely hit the trash and not the mark you desire. Keep in mind they have THOUSANDS & Thousands of resumes to read. You need to be sharp and to the point with your information and hit them within the first few lines. Granted being well rounded is also important but keep it brief. Finally, I would recommend that you purhase a good book on writting resumes and cover letters. These two books will never fail you. You will get years of good use from them and so will your friends who will be constantly borrowing them from you, Good Luck!

a resume should only be 1 page. employers have limited time and limited patience! they want the facts, only what they need to know. 80% job history and 20% all that other crap...get some help with that resume - good luck!! you'll never get a job if you pass in a book, with a quarter of one of the 4 chapters, job history, and way in the back like that. an employer will get th page 2, still see no job history and toss it.

I think 4 pages is too long. It sounds like you have a lot of experiences you want to highlight...the general rule of thumb is keep it to 1 page, 2 max. I would highlight the education in the beginning and bullet each other section. That will give people a short, powerful, not overwhelming, view of what kind of student and person you are.
Good luck!

Sounds impressive, however employers only really skim your resume and don't look past the first page. Realistically you need ONE solid page that have really easy to see bullets with your best and most impressive accomplishments. I remember my college career adviser tell me that only one who has worked in the industry for over 5-10 years should have a resume over one page. Employers will only go back and read your resume if they saw something that caught their eye. I mean imagine looking over hundreds of resumes for one position, this one individual is not going to read each and every one.

4 pages is too long. 1 page resumes are best. 2 pages are acceptable.

Much too long. Most employers want a concise one page resume -- they can ask questions during an interview to fill in the gaps.

Too long for a job in a company. Somebody told me that she worked in Human Resources for a big company and when they saw a resume with more than 2 pages, they throw them out.
Only one page is the ideal one. Mine is like that with my scanned picture.

Resumes are only 1-2 pages. Curriculum vitaes can be as long as you desire them to be, but you do not need one at this point.
