When you update any program, your computer sends a request to the server. Normally, the server response by downloading the files on to your computer. However, if the server fails to send a response to your computer within an alloted time, you will get an error message saying the connection has timed out. You can circumvent this problem by manually downloading the update without using Spybot's updater. Go to MajorGeeks.com and download the update. It comes as an .exe file. After downloading it, double click it to start the update.
