You are so very right, smart and compassionate. For me, I see it as we don't find children as important as we should. In our country we seem to feel our own rights are the most important thing. We are so into giving our attention and honor to the rich and powerful, the beautiful, the perfect, the smart, that children are becoming our possessions that allow us to do with them what we want. (Even end their lives in the womb if they're not concieved at the "right time" or if the child will complicate their lives.) I am against all violence to children, even the very small.
I was horribly abused as a child physically, mentally and sexually
and I understand their pain. I think we are to the point where God has to step in and give humanity a whoopin! All we can do is spread the word like you are doing, vote for the correct leaders, work and volunteer in missions and places where children are in pain and ....pray. I wish there were more people like you that feel our children are to be protected and cherished. Thank you for giving us a heads up! God bless!

I think the child abuse situation is a lot better than it used to be. We just didn't call it abuse. There are all kinds of avenues and organizations available today for anyone in an abusive relationship. As far as abusing children - it's ALWAYS been there - since the beginning of time - it's more controlled than it's ever been....

Remember that the US is made up of many nations - and each country has their own way of raising children.....what we think of as abuse - may be common in their country - even though we think it's awful......Child abuse is as old as Adam and Eve... the evil of being human, I guess.

If you're in a bad situtation, there are organizations you can call - starting with your school counselor that will help you get out of it. Just remember 'abuse' - isn't when a parent is just disciplining you. I got 'spanked' every now & then - and looking back - I never felt I was abused....but that's different than getting burned with a cigarette, and other things.

Because deep down most Americans don't care. It's not their kids so they feel why should I care.

Politicians really don't care. Kids don't vote so why fight for an issue if it is not the popular thing to talk about.

They give these perverts short sentences and they are back on the streets looking for their next victim. Or their parents who should have never even entertained the thought of having children. They have baby after baby and DFS just takes them as they are born drug exposed abused etc.

Maybe in the next world but never in this one . Men are in charge { humans } & we all have problems , some much more intense than others . Mental illness is one big problem , . We don't have enough prisons to hold all the scum dogs or enough Drs. to treat them . Hence we will never be rid of perverted , or hate crimes .

Why would being rich or "independent" have anything to do with it?
