You can get started the quickest in business. If you enjoy people and like to listen, a career in sales can earn you a significant income. For example, if you like investing, you can become a stock broker... some easily earn six figures once they are established in the business. Of course, you can always take the entrepreneur path... decide what you love and build a business around it. I was recently in Napa Valley and the balloonists there earn quite a bit to take tourists on a hot air balloon ride... again, they love to balloon, and built a business on their passion. You can do the same. Good luck!

Sales sales sales (providing you are professional and have the drive and personality).
Selling annuities, pharmaceuticals, or telephony would put you WELL above $40,000. Start for a small company selling telephony products (usually phone systems in companies). Pay is GREAT. Selling insurance is a crappy job no one likes. High turnover industry, but if you are good at it, there is no reason you can not earn $100,000/year by your second year.
I have two friends (granted they both have college degrees, but, they are both under 30 years old. One works in telephony for a small company (earning $200,000 this past calendar year. The other sells annuities and is going to finish at $250,000 this year. What makes them special? Nothing. They have drive, determination, are not afraid to pick up the phone or knock on doors. Plus a friendly attitude.

Trng courses for EKG do not take very long in any respect, and scientific advantages are large. that's in basic terms a solid environment to paintings. EEGs are harder to do and on occasion the sufferers have meningitis, so that's sort of extra risky--however the pay scale is a little extra effective. LPN s and something he can do in nursing will pay extremely properly--LPNS earn 25,000 according to 365 days to start final I heard, yet that became years in the past. Pool upkeep people who the thank you to look after water in spas, swimming pools, the two private and old people properties earn $10 according to hour to start and $15-20 whilst they get qualified. Laboratory techs often require a a million-2 365 days degree and can pass up immediately in the lab and earn very stable funds like $35-40,000 in approximately 5 years. The positioned up place of work nonetheless provides sorting out and that they earn very stable funds.

some police departments only require you to have a GED or HS diploma, and they can pay up to $60,000.
however for the higher paying depts ($80-$10,000) you only need 60 credits.
and once you take an exam you can start within 6 months. again, it all depends on the department.
if you're not looking to go that route, old navy/banana republic/gap pay $10/hr with great benefits.
if you're a people person, try being a waiter and you could earn great tips.
try craigslist.com if you live in a big area.

The medical field is hot. Try medical transcriptionist which requires some college classes but no degree. Ditto insurance billing for medical offices. Flagging comes close cf. cars etc. That is a pretty steep entry unless y ou also have experience in there. You can do it in sales w/ commission but you need to be good w/ people and your mouth.
God's speed.

Generally sales jobs pay well IF you are a good salesperson. Medical technician jobs pay well and only require 1-2 years training.

Retail management (specialty stores to start, then bigger box) is a good bet, but you may have to invest some time. A degree will be required at some point, but only as you approach the higher levels.

get certified in some kind of skill, like electricity, welding, plumbing, fork lift operator, something...if you do work in an office, most likely you'll max out in some form of ad-min position and you won't be promoted past a certain level. 40K isn't all that realistic in anything other than manual or specialized labor.

truck driver!!! i was high school drop out. i went to truck driving school and within a month or two i was making $500+ driving big truck. then after 3 months or so as i started getting good at it, i was making(i mean bringing home)$1000 to $1200 per week. then i took training class for 3 days at company office. i then started training new drivers and started getting paid for the miles they drove + mine. then i made $1500 to $2400 per week. i eventually got tired of it,saved up a ton of cash, then came home and got local job making $500 per week. very good career path and very easy, laid back job with freedom to come and go as you please. pay goes up almost every week in that industry too as companies fight to get more and more drivers to work for them. i wish you the best.
