I select the 'printer' icon near the clock, right clk it and cancell all print jobs. Turn off power to the printer and then back on. This should reset the printer and clear it of all previous commands. When i do the printer turns itself on and starts printing agan!!!

What program are you printing from?
When you select Print, is there options for the number of copies?
Did you do Properties on your printer to see if the default settings call for multiple copies?
How do you stop the printing?

Without knowing answers to the above, try this.
If there is a 'printer' icon near the clock, right clk it and cancell all print jobs. Turn off power to the printer and then back on. This should reset the printer and clear it of all previous commands. If there is not a printer icon near the clock, look for it while the printer is printing and do the above.
