Wow, did you realize the Longest Yard is a movie?
Hmmm, what are the chances that when they want to make a play look spectacular, they stop the action, position the players in specific places, and tell them exactly what to do? I would say it's about 1 in 1 that's how it works
I guarantee any top 50 college team would slaughter the teams in either the original or latest Longest Yard because they would be playing against mostly actors and aging athletes. Do you think the offensive line would know how to zone block or some actor playing an RB would know when to stay in to pick up a blitz? Me neither.
It's a freaking movie!
If it was played like the movie, it would take about 3 days to play one game as they set everyone up to make the fantastic hits.
Obviously you have never played football and realized the actual speed of the game that the movies attempt to capture.

No Zorro -
the longest yard was a movie...hence fantasy
the way they played is what we (football players) call blood ball...
regular football players play that on their off-season.
Despite popluar notion...most convicts are not that big, nor are they that strong. They most definately are NOT in any cardio vascular shape. The longest yard team of actors, would have a tough time playing a 4A high school - and they were in shape.
I doubt a single prison could put tegether a team that stand 4 quarters against even the worst college.
Why isn't regular football like that...
because people would die.
if you get off on that - keep watching the ultimate fighter competitions on tv...thats designed for people like you; people too scared to get off the sofa and live life so they watch it being lived for them on tv.

because the imaginary people in the movie would get their blocks knocked off by real football players. there are rules for the protection of the players for a reason, because football has resulted in the deaths and permanent injuries of countless individuals. you sound like you would prefer the roman coliseum over lambeau field....
