i never had that problem or a uti for that matter, but i am a nurse and everything the doctors said sounds right. if they didnt' see anything during the ultrasound then i imagine you have to just let the pill do it's job.. you can also ask for a med that numbs your bladder such as pyridum.

Yes, yes, yes. I sometimes feel I am the Queen of UTI's, I have had them for months with no change. You have to be persistent with the meds, don't forget, and try to take them at the same time every day. Drink alot of water, I mean tons. Your urethra is probably inflammed from the infection, that is why you are still feeling discomfort. Do as the doctor says and see him again in three weeks, he should then do another culture to see if the infection is gone. I know how hard this can be. Just hang in there, don't give up.

I have had similar problems with UTI. The best thing is to go and buy concentrated cranberry pills. Also if you will eat yogurt on a regular basis ( once a day ), that will help also. Also make sure when you go to the bathroom sit there for a little while longer and make sure your bladder is completely empty. Antibiotics arent always the right way to go when its a constant complaint. Try some prevention. Good Luck!

ok first increase you water intake unless you are not permitted try drinking 8 8oz glasses every day also try drinking some cranberry juice to help make your urine acidic to help kill the bacteria orange juice makes your urine alkaline not good in some aspects because of the uti. also if you are female make sure when you relieve yourself in the bathroom you wipe front to back AND WASH YOUR HANDS!!!!!! also for some reason the bacteria are not responding to the antibiotics did the dr. do a urinalysis and culture and sensitivity???? some "germs" take a LONG time to get rid of

Are you sexually active? If so, your partner could possibly have an infection without realizing it and be reinfecting you. He may need to be checked out. Good luck to you...I know UTI's can be miserable :(
