Eggs don't get bigger if you put them in water. But if you look into the water from above, the eggs are not where they appear to be because light rays are refracted (bent) when passing from one medium (air)
into another (water). This same refraction is why eggs under water look magnified if you look at them from above the water. If you are under the water and look at them, they will not look magnified.
