Here are some of my personal favorite movies that I think you should consider buying and watching:

1. The Exorcist
2. All of the Freddie Cruger Movies.
3. All of the Chuckie movies, except the really new ones. All of the ones that were made back in the 80's and earlier. Those were the best.
4. The Grudge
5. The Thing
6. Hell Raiser ( All of them)

These are just a few. I hope that you find what you are looking for. Good Luck!!!

Besides the Linda Blair movie, the scariest of the scariest are:
Deep Red(Italian, 1976); Blood On Satan's Claw(British, 1970) and Otsuyu(Japanese, 1997)aka The Haunted Lantern

The Exorcist of course is a classic
The Omen trilogies
Poltergeist is less spicy but still a good classic
Freddy Movies
Halloween movies

etc

I HATE the Silent Hill movie. I thought it was stupid and pointless to be honest. Some of the best are classics.

The old stuff. Don't waste your time on the stuff thats coming out now. It's a waste of time and money.

Dawn of the Dead by George A. Romero (My Favorite movie)
Day of the Dead
