When they are able to support them selves. I moved out when I was 18. I was married and my husband worked offshore making enough money to support us. Just dont push your kids out and expect them to fly.

I'm almost 24 and I still live at home. I pay 1/2 the bills. I have never been to college. i dropped out of HS when I was 16, got my GED and went to work. Mom can't do everything on her own. So I'm here to help her out. And in return she babysits for my daughter.

I left when i was 20 got married, became a widow because my husband was messed up on drugs. Which was back in march so.

I think it all depends on the family. Some kids are ready and mature enough to leave at 18, others are not.

Depends are they in school? Longer if they are in school and you are being supportive of school. If they are handicapped you might want to keep them longer yet. It depends on the kid. It depends on if they are helping you with responsibilities with other kids or other things at the home. It depends on the culture. If they are in school cut them off at undergraduate bachelors degree age. Normal age for that if they are going to school at home and not taking forever. If that is your agreement. If they are working and helping you with younger siblings cut it off around that same age. If they are just being horrible kick them out at 18.
