step 1 change your subtracting signs to positvive
step 2 use the distibutive property(-2 times 3x and -2 times-2)
step 3 combine like terms (-6x + x)
step 4 you are adding 4 so subract 4 from both sides

Step 1: Distributive property x-6x+4 = -6
Step 2: Combine like terms -5x + 4 = -6
Step 3. Subtract 4 from each side: -5x = -10
Step 4: Divide by -5 x = 2
This was for #1.
On the other two, after the distributive property, I would multiply each term by the denominator to get rid of the fraction. Then proceed like the first one.
2) 3x/4 + 27/4 = 15
3x + 27 = 60
3x = 33
x = 11

Numbers outside parentheses are multiplied by both things inside.
Problem 1 becomes x - 6x + 4 = -6 after the 3x and the -2 inside are multiplied by the -2 outside.
That's -5x + 4 = -6
Then add -4 to both sides: -5x = -10
Divide by -5: x = 2
The others are just about the same.

distribute
1) X- (2x 3X) - (2x2) = -6
turns to:
x - 6X - 4 = -6
combine like terms
-5X - 4= -6
get -4 on the other side
-5X - 4 +4 = -6 + 4
-5X = -2
divide by -5
X = 2/5 (since 2 and 5 are both - they become + )
2) 3/4 X + 6.75 =15
- 6.75 -6.75
3/4X = 8.25
divide by 3/4
X = 11
3) 1/4 (T +10) = 5
1/4 T + 2.5 = 5
1/4 T = 2.5
divide by 1/4
T = 10

1. multiply the 2 into the parenthases. you get
x-6x+4=-6 then combine x's and move the 4 over to get
-5x=-10 divide by -5 x=2
2. multiply by 4 to cancel it out on the left and you get 60 on the right. then multiply the 3 through for
3x+27= 60 subtract out the 27 for
3x= 33 then divide by 3 for x=11
3...try it by yourself!!!!! should get 10 good luck!!

1.x-2(3x-2)=-6
1st. use the distribute property, parenthesis first x-2(3x)-2(-2)=-6= x-6x+4=6
2nd. Combine like terms -5x+4=6
3rd. get the variable on one side and all the other #'s on the other -5x+4=6, subtract 4 on each side -5x=2, divide both sides by -5 x=-2/5
2. 3/4(x+9)=15
1st. distribute again 3/4x + 27/4=15
2nd. get the variable alone on one side. subtract 27/4 on each side 3/4x=33/4, times each side by 4/3 to cancel out 3/4. x=33/3. 33/3 = 11
3. 1/4 (t+10)=5
1st. distribute 1/4t +10/4=5
2nd. reduce 1/4t + 5/2=5
3rd. get variable alone on one side. subtract 5/2 on each side. 1/4t=5/2. times both sides by 4 to council out 1/4. t=5/2 x 4. t=10

ok heres the rule:
+ or - stuff outside parenthesis first 3+(x+2)=6 will be (x+2)=3
then x or / stuff outside parenthesis 2(x+2)=4 will be (x+2)=2
after that + or - stuff inside parenthesis but NOT THE X (x+2)=4 will be x=2
finally x or / the stuff connected to the x. 3x=9 will be x=3
For fractions you divide them. flip the fraction and multiply.
1/2x=3
3 divided by 1/2 is what u are doing
=3 x 2/1
=6
so x=6
i hope that helps if not email me

1. x-2(3x-2)=-6
x-6x+4+-6 Distribute
-5x+4=-6 Add x's together
-5x=-10 Add lnumbers together
x=2 divide 5 from each side
2.3/4(x+9)=15
0.75x+6.75=15 I changed the fractions into decimals and distriutied
0.75x=8.25 subtract 6.25 from each side
x=11 divide 0.75 from each side
3.1/4(t+10)=5
0.25t+2.5=5 distribute
0.25t=2.50 subtract 2.50 from each side
t=10 dvide 0.25 from each side
