The human brain is an amazing thing. We all have internal body clocks, called the circadian rythem. I do the same thing too, but it only works if I actually look at what time it is before I go to bed. From there, your brain subconciously ticks away the seconds. Just like any sense, some people are more 'in-tune' with it than others, you're just one of those that has a strong internal chronometer and are semi-aware of it.

This happens with me almost everyday. I cant explain why or how it happens but it does. If my alarm is set for 6:55 I will wake at 6:54 or a little sooner, but almost never more than a few minutes before alarm is set to go off. I set my alarm to different times about every other day due to weird work hours. It has nothing to do with your cellphone being the alarm, this happens to me wheather Im at home or at a friends so I think the type of clock means nothing. The mind and body is a strange thing and we have yet to understand many things about both.

If I have to get up for something really important, not only do I set my alarms as "backup", but I also look at the clock before I go to bed. I tell myself mentally many times what time it is. So, if it is 10:00, I'll think to myself over and over "Its now 10 o'clock". I'll do that maybe 15-20 times. Then, as I lay there, I think to myself over and over that I have to wake up at 5 o'clock.
It always works like a charm. I'll wake up before the alarms go off, right around (give or take a few minutes) the time I thought to myself that I needed to get up.

The reason that you wake up almost at the same time your phone alarm goes off, is because when you set it your body automatically sets an alarm its self which your brain programs itself. It could also be when you are going to bed too. Some people sleep through that "self-alarm" while other people are light sleepers. Try going to bed at different times while still set your alarm to that time. See which one it is.

I think it's physologic you and ur biological close intertwine when you are setting ur clock. Your body knows holw long it takes to wake up at a certain time but when u set it different maybe u body does the math and eh...there you go

You are unconscious, but you set the clock you know what time you are going to wake up, so you unconscious count the time and wake up.

I don't think so unless you sleep with your cell phone on your pillow. It is probably just a sub conscious thing or coincidence.
