Hello,

I have a Belkin Wireless Router with a Security Encryption Key and have forgotten the WEP Key after not using it for a while. Is there any way I can get through the WEP Key without having to replace the router, or is there an override Key?

Many Thanks,

Lambros

use a pin to press in the 'reset' hole on the back of the router.

this should set the router back to factory settings.

there are people saying 'just login to the configuration page' but without a wep key you can't connect to the network (router) and therefore can't access the configuration page behind that protection.

Log in to the router's management page, and set a new key... the same way you did when you set it up in the first place. It's to be hoped that you didn't forget the password for that...

Failing that, reset the router to its factory default configuration (Small hole, paperclip...:-) and start over.

All of the above assumes that it's your router, and that you have admin access to it,

Type the router address into your web browser and this will pull up the router settings. Look around for the WEP key and make sure to write it down somewhere.

no need to reset the router, just log into the router's setup, enter in a new passcode, and it will generate a new key. you will need to re-enter in the key at every wireless laptop/desktop
