The hard drive hasn't been reformatted or repartitioned yet to prevent any data being overwritten

When you delete the partition on a drive the data is still there, so the first thing to NOT do, is to reformat the drive or try and repartition it.

Instead, check the hard drive manufacturer's website (assuming you can still get on the internet using another pc or hard drive) and see if they have any disk utilities that can be run from a floppy or CD.

A second option is to get some sort of disk utility such as Norton Disk Doctor from Symantec, or something comparable.

These utilities will examine the contents of your drive an make help make whatever repairs are necessary.

Do a search on the net for "partition restoration" for more sources of advice, disk utilities, etc.

Here's a FREE utility utility that I found...

It is never a good idea to believe that data can always be recovered after you make such an impactual change. However, there are many free undelete programs out there. Try downloads.com and search for Recovery or Undelete. They should have some software. If that doesn't work you still have hope. A company (such as OnTrack) can recover data for you at a moderate expense (approximatley $500). However, there is no gaurentee.

a million) seek google for "Undelete" classes. you should purchase one or you won't be able to save your records (different than in case you detect a freeware software) 2) purchase a sparkling disk (you won't be able to save the recovered records on the comparable disk)
