There are many different types of law that an attorney can practice - immigration, tax, criminal, corporate, civil, real estate, family etc. What one person could find rewarding would depend on his/her personal interest.

One can earn a lot more money in private sector. Compensation in law firms are generally higher than in-house counsels. Larger firms higher than the smaller ones. Lots of long hours and very competitive.

Public sector jobs are less well compensated, however could be a lot more rewarding, respected and a better personal life.

Best wishes.
