I have a tv that supports progresive scan, should i buy the component cables for my ps2? Is there a huge visual difference while playing games?

There is a difference that some people will notice, and some people won't know/care, it's something you need to compare yourself.

Also note that, the 3D renderer of the PS2 renders at 512x512, so enabling Progressive scan would still NOT get rid of the "jaggies" that all PS2 games have, that is a hardware limitation of graphics processor. Your most notable difference in games will be in non-3D elements, such as menu interface, and 2D sprites and graphics.

You should find out if the game you want to play also supports Progressive Scan since more than half do not.

you are able to not get imaginitive test interior the direction of the traditional A/V cables. those are probable the worst in terms of image high quality. you opt for ingredient cables (Y/Pb/Pr) to get the appropriate image high quality out of a PS2. the two way a PS2 is 480p at appropriate meaning that it will consistently look slightly stretched on a HDTV.
