I have a 2003 server, with terminal services installed. There are 12 clients that connect to it via a web based remote desktop connection.
The client machine will start IE and go to a URL. The user will then be prompted to enter user name and password for remote desktop login (more like windows login).

Someone else setup the system, and I am trying to understand what they have done.
The server has the ip address: 10.2.97.238.
For simplicity, say I have 2 clients with ip addresses: 10.2.97.221 and 10.2.97.222. The first computer will start IE and go to: http://10.2.97.231/tsweb. While the second one will go to http://10.2.97.232/tsweb.

I don't understand this. I was expecting that both machines would connect to same server address. (i.e. http://10.2.97.238/tsweb).

Can someone explain? Or give me a link, where I can read about this?

Thanks

It's not generally an appropriate thing, but you CAN have multiple IP addresses per system. You can also put the tsweb client on other systems - it's just a web page with an activeX control.

you're lacking some steps. one million. in case you probably did no longer purchase any Terminal provider licensing, your homestead windows Server will purely enable one distant very own computer connection and could refuse something. 2. you are going to be able to desire to purchase Terminal Server CALS. besides, you are going to be able to desire to configure the server to be a Licensing Server besides in the previous you placed interior the CALS. 3. you are going to be able to desire to upload all your clientele to the "distant very own computer clientele' crew on the server. 4. Are you utilising a STATIC IP address on your router? you have gotten gotten the IP address the 1st time and in case you haven't any longer have been given a static IP it could have replaced considering.
