"subdue and dominate" is used in the Bible, but I glean from it that although we should not worship the earth, we need to protect our children...there is a lot of anti-greed in the Bible as well.

Speaking from a non-christian earth-based religious point of view, it's about time Christians started taking reponsibility for their actions besides blaming it on original sin, or copping out and saying that Jesus will forgive them for all their transgressions. Hopefully fundamentalists who believe that their "God" made man the stewards of the earth, and that gives them the right to strip mine her of all resources will learn a lesson from all this. Kudos to progressive christians...let their enlightenment continue.

Green for God? Whatever works, I guess, but I wonder if it will drag in the Sierra Club/Volvo/latte types? Well it just might, for example if they are Walnut Creek Presbyterians. Of course the evangelical right wing hates liberal Christians already, so this just gives them one more issue to rail about. After all, while instructing us to be good stewards, doesn't the Bible also teach us to "subdue and dominate" the earth, or words to that effect? And we all know how much the right wing loves to subdue and dominate.

I am a traditionalist, with conservative leanings. I have a master's degree in Geology and Environmental Engineering. I have been a Christian for several years. No mud on my name from any clergy I have ever run into. Where did you get this idea? Could you put some sources out there or do you think you could make up a better story next time? Education is the key. Do you know the meaning of dominion? Look it up. It will help you understand why so many people of varying political and religious persuasions understand the importance of caring for our home planet.
I really do like your alliteration though.

If you believe in God, you believe that He entrusted us and every generation with the responsibility to perpetuate our human race, and to do that, we need to pass on a healthy environment to future generations. It is something any good parent owes to his or her children--a clean, wholesome home in which to grow, and the earth is our home. It is a remarkable, and unique miracle in all the universe, it is real. Money at this point is nothing more than magnetic blips, so now, more than ever, sacrificing the reality of a healthful home for the human race just to have magnetic blips change configuration on computers in Basel and Tokyo is utterly absurd. It is not only right to protect the environment for future generations, it is the ultimate in practicality, as well.

I find it hard to believe you have a degree in anything...if you simply can not not grasp the truth in what this asker has said...moreover it brings into question the validity of anything further you have to say.

This is not Nazi Germany. How long did the republicans think they could keep Christians in lock step with their ridiculous agenda?
