If I can show my friends the white, fluffy stuffed bears named Huggie Bears that I've had since I was two weeks old, slept with since I was two weeks old, and still sleep with at twelve years old, then you have no reason to hide a little blanket from your so-called friends.
And hun be sure not to create the same question twice!!

I am 21 yrs old and I know it sounds crazy but I still sleep with a teddy bear. I have had this thing since I was 4 and i can't let go. Who cares what other people think, you are your own person and you need your own thing to make you feel comfortable. Some people think it's crazy to have a "security blanket" but I honestly cannot sleep without my bear. I don't care if people make fun of me, they do it all the time. Even my husband laughs at me, but he stops lauging when I toss and turn all night without that bear. If they are really your friends they will accept you no matter what.

I think it's cute. You don't have to try to give it up. Yeah, a lot of your friends wouldn't understand but why do they have to? This is a private thing, and you don't owe anyone an explanation. I have a hope chest and one thing in it is an old threadbare baby blanket. If I would pull it out, my daughter would get all misty over it. If I suggested throwing it out...well, I would never test her like that. She's 23, a college graduate, and engaged to married but she still has a soft spot for her blankey.

When my older boys were 13 they still did things (and still do them) that are private. Your friends do not have to no every thought in your head. This is between you and your family, which by the way I think is very cute!
Do not worry you are not the only one! My boys have pillows that they will actually fight over!! No kidding and the oldest is 16, very big kids so when the two bigger ones get to fighting.....well lets say they are bigger then there own mom!! This is over pillows!!
You have a great week, and remember your friends do not have to no everything!

26 and still sleep with a blanket. It give me security and my friends just tease me so its not a big deal to me. I figure I will get rid of it when I am ready and I expect that you will do the same. Really not a big deal there are worse things in life than still sleeping with a blanket!

I slept with my blanket and bear until I got married at 25 years old. Now, I sleep with my hubby. All of my friends knew this. Only one made fun of me but I really didn't care cuz I teased her about stuff. In life you need to learn how to not worry about what people think and be yourself- not an easy thing to do. Good friends will let you be who are,

I really don't recommend telling your friends, but I don't think it's such a big deal you still have your blankie. Stick it in your pillow case and touch the edge before you sleep if you need to. Gradually train yourself to rely on it less and less, but you don't have to throw it out. You can sew it into a pillow or something to keep as a fond remembrance.

I sleep with a blanket. I think the best thing to do is to not lie about and just laugh along. Works for me. Except I recently lost mine, and I'm very sad. My aunt gave it to me at birth. Tear tear!

You are at an age where you will begin to let go of some of those childhood security needs. But don't worry, you don't have to give em all up just yet. When you are good and ready maybe you can bag it up and keep it in the closet for safe keeping.
Its ok to hide this and keep it for yourself. no one needs to know.

If it has a tattered corner or a little lace or fringe, cut a piece and tie it or pin it onto something.I did this for my daughter so she will not be too traumatized when it finally goes to blankie heaven. She is 11 and still totes it everywhere(hidden,of course)...// :)â¥
