My religion condemns heterosexuals as an "abomination". Should we stress tolerance?

I'm trying not to judge the militant, heterosexual, reprobates but it seems they insist on "flaunting" their sexuality. This is a grave offense to my faith. Should I lobby for laws prohibiting their unions and try to infuse my faith into all local and national laws or should I just respect the fact that humanity falls on an enormously diverse scale with different permutations, variations, and orientations?
Any advice you could proffer would be greatly appreciated -- as you know it's important to know who God wants us to hate.

I think we should condem all heterosexuals....they are poluting our children with their filth...and perversions...I say we send them all to North Dakota....let them stay there..make them request travel visa's to leave...and insist they are followed to ensure they dont spread their filth among our young

11. With all the societal support for marriage, the divorce rate is spiraling. Why are there so few stable relationships among heterosexuals?

12. Why do heterosexuals place so much emphasis on sex?

13. Considering the menace of overpopulation, how could the human race survive if everyone were heterosexual?

14. Could you trust a heterosexual therapist to be objective? Dont you fear s/he might be inclined to influence you in the direction of her/his own leanings?

15. Heterosexuals are notorious for assigning themselves and one another rigid, stereotyped sex roles. Why must you cling to such unhealthy role-playing?

16. With the sexually segregated living conditions of military life, isnt heterosexuality incompatible with military service?

17. How can you enjoy an emotionally fulfilling experience with a person of the other sex when there are such vast differences between you? How can a man know what pleases a woman sexually or vice-versa?

18. Shouldnt you ask your far-out straight cohorts, like skinheads and born-agains, to keep quiet? Wouldnt that improve your image?

19. Why are heterosexuals so promiscuous?

20. Why do you attribute heterosexuality to so many famous lesbian and gay people? Is it to justify your own heterosexuality?

21. How can you hope to actualize your God-given homosexual potential if you limit yourself to exclusive, compulsive heterosexuality?

22. There seem to be very few happy heterosexuals. Techniques have been developed that might enable you to change if you really want to. After all, you never deliberately chose to be a heterosexual, did you? Have you considered aversion therapy or Heterosexuals Anonymous

I think its a good idea to be generous with your love and tolerance because its better for your spiritual life. Try to understand that their heterosexuality is something they just are, not something they choose to be. They are God's children as well. You never know, your son or daughter could one day fall in love with someone of the opposite gender, and they will need your love and support in their exploration of their heterosexuality.
Be an example for everyone else, and love the sinner, if you cannot love the sin.

I love all of these geniuses that believe that homosexuality exists only in humans. That's what you get from reading only church-approved literature.

Get with it folks, homosexuality and transgenderism are exhibited among animals both in the wild and in captivity. In my sources, I'll list one site that shows a number of wild and captive homosexual and bisexual behaviors among animals.

That should keep the poster saying that it only occurs in humans a bit busy for a while checking his sources.

As for who to hate, I grew up hating myself, KNOWING that I was an abomination, knowing that I was going to hell, living with people who wanted to condemn me and hurt me. They quite nearly succeeded in clearing their consciences by driving me to the point where I tried to kill myself multiple times. I did this not because I was an abomination unto some god, but because I was taught that I was unlovable and worthless. That's the what the hatred that your disgusting interpretations of yoru scriptures breeds.

Do you realize that many of the words interpreted as homosexual in your Bible didn't originally mean that? In many cases it meant things such as "temple prostitute". If you've got a copy of Strongs, check it out.

As far as "flaunting our sexuality", do you mean the disgusting act of two men or two women kissing? HOLY CRAP What a nightmare! What the hell? Could I really have missed this? I actually saw a man and a woman kissing on a public sidewalk! What on earth were they thinking! Flaunting their sexuality like that! What disgusting animals they must be. GET OVER IT. If you don't like it, you don't have to do it. That's free choice.

Some of us have put up with so much crap from the world of conservativism that it's nearly cost us our lives. In many cases, it has cost lives, through murder and suicide. That sort of hatred has no place in the world.

Just imagine a world where straights were the target of negative scripture interpretations, where you were an abomination for "choosing to be straight". I'd give anything for you to feel for just a moment what I've felt for the past 42 years. I'd just love for you to be denied employment, to be beaten, to be insulted, even for a day, and then extrapolate what that feels like for a lifetime. If you could feel that, then just maybe you'ld be able to answer your own stupid question.

And since homosexuality was made up only about 10 years ago...

And since every creature on the planet is hetrosexual except about 2% of humans...

You should take up a job in advertising, you would be an excellent role model for a "......reasons why you need to have a vasectomy......" campaign, or even for condoms come to think of it. God does not judge no matter how much you have learned in your bible readings...in todays world the children that will one day run our world are growing up in a gay and lesbian world. They are accepting of the lifestyle and one day it will be (like it or not) equal to or majority of heterosexual style. You have no choice but to learn to tolerate it because we're not going anywhere. We're coming out in the tens of thousands daily...you can lobby all you want and try and try and fight our lifestyle but it won't change anything, if anything things are getting better for us everyday and will continue. We will never go back into hinding...live your life and let others live theres. I will pray for you...
