Yes, I think that Republicans had a perfect opportunity to improve the lives of Americans. Instead they have chosen to restict our freedoms through provisions of the PATRIOT Act; they have passed legislation that ignores the needs of students, by refusing to pass a bill reducing interest on student loans; They chosen to opt out of the Kyoto Protocol, in doing so implicitly saying they care nothing about the environment. Republicans have made it clear they believe they are better than everyone else because they are a party of the rich, by the rich and for the rich.

Yes I agree. However; perhaps this is the reason why Americans as a whole; all political, religious affiliation are up in an uproar. There are similar things in which we all share. One of the most sacred is not messing with the children. Even prisoners in jail, share that in common with us. Why blame the kids; for what political figures turn a blind eye to? The objectivity of this scandal can not be taken lightly. In essence the Republican party has always worn proudly that their party was Conservative, ethical, honorable and with integrity. Yet they have proven and fallen short; with the recent Foley scandal; the Iraqian War; North Korea; Cowboy Diplomacy; Gay Bashing; Immigration; 911; No Child Left Behind; the Economy is suffering; Corporate thievery; and a President who lacks communications skills and suffers immensely in the diplomatic world. Its no longer about the GOP; but in essence the future of America. The American people want more than just being kick to the curb. Pink slips are coming!

they thought they were,, then one of their own Congressmen, (Mark Foley) steps down after sexually explicit emails to a page boy of 16 years of age,,,, a child predator,,, then the Republican leadership tries to cover it up,, then President Bush stands with them,, condoning the cover-up child sexual exploitation,, then the Bush team is caught mocking Christians and their contributions,, the Gay Republicans hold meetings in congress,,, the moral majority,, once again fell from grace,, the religious right has no morals,,

The Republicans know that the WOT is more important than the Dems realize. The economy, health care, education are all important but we we are blown away by the terrorists what good will all that other stuff be. We need to put the WOT first and not be like the cut and run dems.

And ignorance infects. No Republicans are not better people, just realistic. We know that giving autographed basketballs to nutjob dictators of rogue states will not convince them to stop pursuing weapons of mass destruction that they can use to threaten their neighbors. We know that giving in to get by in the present only encourages the bad guys to come back, again and agin, and only a show of resolve, backed up by force will be understood. Democrats think that inviting the baddies to a brie and chablis party will make it all better like when your mommy kissed your boo-boo. IT DOESN'T WORK!

Republicans in general oppose abortion on demand, gay marriage, and giving free tuition to illegal aliens in American colleges: they support the military and national defense, low taxes, and are against the welfare state.

I'm female, a registered Independent and I know I am better than you, the Republicans, the Democrats, the Constitutionalists, the Green Party, the Libertarians and any and all other parties, individuals, and anything else on the face of this green earth.
Why do you keep asking these questions? Accept the facts and lower your feeble ambition to make others squirm.

Its funny though, I know some republicans who say that the GOP party has changed dramatically from its original platforms and though they are labeled republicans do not side with the current GOP party on many issues.
