It can be a good career if you really have the passion for charity work. Involving in charity drives and events are a noble & courageous career, because you're willing to volunteer your daily efforts to help the the ones in need. Imagine if you can make a difference in somebody's life, he/she will always be greatful to you for your help. And the feeling of accomplishing this is undescribable....in a good way. :-)

It's an excellent career choice. Very popular nowadays. Just look at the numbers. If I give a dollar to a charitable organization, only about 7 cents actually winds up being given to the poor person. The other 97 cents goes into the pockets of the administrators, tax-free! So you can just set back and rake it in. Look at the billions and billions of dollars that went to the Katrina thing. They could have built a brand-new city with that money but if you go down there the people are still living in mud surrounded by big piles of garbage. Nothing has been done. Who got the money? The people who were collecting it. You could have been one of those people. And this hurricane season has kind of fizzled because Bush has been busy invading Iraq. But next year promises to be a doozy with maybe four or five Katrinas so I'd say there's some real opportunities there, just waiting for ya. Go for it!

The money isn't that good, but it's very rewarding work. Grant-writing is probably the most transferable skill that you'd learn.

you can make easy money doing it, especially if your well versed in calumny and spin doctoring.
try the catholic church.
