Maybe. But she has a better chance of having a mentally or physically handicapped baby, because during this time the baby's brain is developing rapidly and any chemical interaction with that process can have devastating side effects.
Any mother who takes speed so far into her pregnancy (second trimester, so you can't say it was a surprise by that point) doesn't deserve any child she births. The baby should be raised by people who will love him/her. Not someone who would do something so stupid and irresponsible with reckless disregard for the life growing inside of them.

Why is that a form of birth control now? Or just stupidity at it's best! I can't believe some of the questions people have the nerve to ask. Whatever the host ingests so does the baby I wont call the person a mother because a mother is a caring loving person and if someone his taking harmful illegal drugs, well thats quite the opposite. A baby is developed at that time so that little one was high just as the person (host) was. I guess if you want to miscarry instead of doing harmful drugs why not seek out other options and consultant a Medical Doctor right away! So that little baby doesn't have to keep suffering please!(SO THINK!!!!!!!)

There is no baby at this point, there is a fetus, and what the pregnant woman does affects the fetus. Speed can have harmful effects on anyone who uses it and when a pregnant woman uses, the fetus does also. Miscarriage is among the bad possibilities, and so is sudden death.
This pregnant person needs to cease using drugs and get help as soon as possible for her own sake as well as that of the potential child.

Hey- Alot of people don't realize that this is an attempt to get rid of the baby. I am going to be honest with you. Taking speed my actually not result in a miscarriage. You'll probably end up with a baby with a birth defect. I'd definitely talk to your doctor about other options. There's a possibility that if a birth defect is found that they doctor would suggest that you abort the pregnancy. Make sense? Please think long and hard about the decisions you make.

Yes there is a good chance that either the person would miscarry or have a servery dysfunctional child. Here are a few sites explaining the risks.
Also---I know this advice isn't for yourself. I feel bad for the people (other answerers) who assume they know why you are asking. Try to convince your sister to put the baby up for adoption. If that fails make sure she gets an abortion in a safe and clean place.
Best of Luck!

Alot of things could possibly go wrong with the baby. Many are born with mental or physical disabilities. Yes, there is a possibility of a miscarriage. The best thing is to follow the doctor's advice and pray that everything will be OK for the baby.

Probably. If she continues to take drugs, the baby will be born addicted to drugs and have all sorts of learning and possibly physical disabilities. The baby didn't ask to be brought into the world into this situation and doesn't deserve this kind of mistreatment. Please take care of this baby, you will never know what a precious gift this is until it is too late. There are so many people out there who aren't able to have children of their own who would love to have a child. If the baby is not wanted or you cannot take care of it please find someone who can.

Yes I think the baby could miscarry or come out funny. She probably shouldn't have been a druggie and now she's going to pay for it.
