I have had multiple types of treatment for extreme uterine pain. NOTHING WORKS. That treatment has included chemotherapy (and no, I don't have cancer). I can't seem to get a doctor who gives a damn or will do anything about the pain at all. I'm at my wit's end. Yes, this is a last resort. NO I WILL NOT CONSIDER ANY ALTERNATIVES - THEY DO NOT WORK - I HAVE DONE THEM ALL. So, how do I get a doctor to give me a hysterectomy? I can pay for it out of pocket if I have to.

You just have to search and search. I've read of young, childfree people who get denied tube tying because of their age and that they haven't had children. It seems medically necessary to stop the uterine pain, so maybe a different doc will consider it. Look for a young, progressive doctor. Old fashioned ones wouldn't likely do one.

Your gyno is gonna have to decide that a hysterectomy is what you need. Hes gonna want to try everything before he resorts to that. I went thru the pain for over a yr before they would do mine

I would just tell them, thats what you want, that youre tired of trying. You cant take the pain anymore.

Many doctors won't give you a hysterectomy if you are of child-bearing age. I know that first-hand because I have asked my doctor to give me one.

Keep asking different doctors about giving you a hysterectomy, explaining your problem, until you find one who will do as you request. Perhaps you will have better luck than I did. I'm sure someone out there will see reason.

Good luck. :)
