Can logic uphold truth?

I think you have hit the nail on the head. Logic alone cannot force anyone to do anything. I am reminded, however, that sticks and stones can break my bones. Therefore, a big stick and logic can force people to do a lot of things and waterboarding, even without logic, can get people to do almost anything. There is an old saying: "If you can control a person's breathing, you can get them to do anything." You might not even need reason, values, philosophy, religion, or anything else; just a waterboard and the motivation to control others.

Can you feel anything that logic will force you to do? You say no. I wonder if you feel angry when someone uses logic to explain away an important personal feeling. I get upset when people explain away how I feel. But I like your question. And I like the way you express yourself. And I believe we can use logic to help support the truth.

I feel that logic is a thought that may inspire a force, an action, but a thought alone may not cause an action.
Example: If we know that people in New Orleans are homeless, helpless, and penny less, and we know they are! A year later, desensitized is there the same money coming in to help these people? Nope!

Logic cannot force you to do anything, however what you deduct from that logic can be a reason for doing something.

I feel logic is gentle mental exercise , to arrive internally , at some point to seek answers to problems and situations. It brings you closer to resolving, showing the various angles .

But , when you arrive at that point of decision, it is YOU who should take the final decision.

There are , however, situations, in which certain problems are logically analysed , in consultation with another. In such situations , if the other person`s views are also in consonense with yours , you may be more confident of taking the decision. In such situations you may feel that a certain "force" is being applied. It is only a myth. That "force" is onlya reinforcement of your desicion.
