Bush took a surplus and has pissed it off into a $250,000,000,000 DEFICIT.

911 happened on HIS watch.

His debt is now $8,500,000,000,000.

The GOP's had control of the White House, the Senate and Congress for over five years. Time to own up to your sh*t.

Thank you!! Even though Bush gave $43 million to the Taliban to control their opium trade in May of 2001, gave $95 to North Korea in 2002 and waived the required inspections, and ignored the Intelligence reports about possible terrorists attacks (pre-9/11), they will still say it is all Clinton's fault till the grave.

You have no idea how politics and economics work do you? When you start working, you pay taxes. I've been paying them for 30 tears. Guess what, my taxes have been much lower over the past 4 years. I own my home (well, the bank does I'm still paying) and home ownership rates are at an all-time high as interest rates are still near historic low levels. Unemployment rates are low. The stock market is at a record high, federal revenues are up, the deficit has reduced over 28% during the last 12 months.
Let's recap: Taxes are down, revenues are up, the economy is very strong...Where's the failure? You should get your information from more than one liberal source and at least listen to what economists are saying before publicly posting your parroted opinion. Maybe turn off the FOX network and read Tme magazine occasionally. Glen Beck is a free-thinker, check him out.

If you think the liberals have a better plan, think about a stagnant economy, higher taxes, interest rate increases, oh don't forget how high the already staggering health isurance rates will skyrocket, not to mention terrorists roaming the entire world, attacking at their leisure..

Additional Details:
The DEBT may be in the trillions but the DEFICIT is less than 500 billion by the worst account. A deficit is simply outstanding debt above the amount of tax revenues. Granted, owing a lot of money is not necessarily a good thing, it's not the screaming monster you liberals make it out to be. BTW, we carried a national debt when Clinton was in office as well. The Gross Domestic Product is much higher now than in 2000, that's why the deficit is dropping. The increase in business activity due to tax decreases is actually generating more tax revenues....The Congressional Budget Office even predicts with no new spending (unlikely if Dems take over the administration) and tax cut repeal (which is likely whoever is elected) the deficit would be erased by 2014 regardless of who is in office.
I do not expect to change your political preference, only to show how the left is using partial economic truths to further their agenda.

I have adjusted my additional comments, they were incorrect in my haste to compose them. (bedtime and all).. That debt you mention does not belong to Bush, it's the cost of running the federal government and paying for all it's programs. Hmm, how about eliminating some of those programs and aid the liberals are always screaming for, that'll reduce the debt and the deficit. Stop sending aid to other needy countries, the world will like us even less than they do now.

People go too far blaming Clinton for the problems that arose during Bush's terms, but you can't ignore it.
Clinton didn't take out Osama when he had the chance, and 9/11 happened. Osama declared war on the U.S. in February 1997, which was a lot more distinct than the Presidential Daily Briefing that Bush supposedly ignored in 2001. (That PDB, BTW, made no mention of the events of 9/11. Google it, read it, and you'll see.)

As far as the deficit and debt, that's the product of a bunch of really shitty conservatives. True conservatives would've limited spending. But to do that, and still fund a war, even more of your precious social programs would've had to bite the bullet. But I suppose your quick fix would be ... what exactly?

9/11 was a direct result of Slick Willie's inability to take out Osama bin Laden. The Iraq conflict was a direct result of 9/11. These are not President Bush's fault. There is an election in less than 4 weeks and President Bush is not running for anything. So WHEN are the liberals going to start talking about the issues in THIS election??

Actually the debt is six time higher than the Whitehouse claims (8.5 trillion). GAO released the figures last week. Bush used a very creative bookkeeping ploy (guess his MBA was good for something) to under report it.

This administration is even more corrupt than the Harding administration, and that tokes some doing.

Well, if the national debt of $8.5 trillion is George Bush's, that's a good thing, right?

I mean, he's a filthy rich white male so he can pay it off and everything will once again be copacetic, no?

Don't worry - be happy!
