I heard that penguins can, but what about other animals, too? I think it's possible, I think they are.

yes they can be- dolphins can be. and animals when playing, especially when young can show "gay actions" even though they may just be trying to dominate the other.

Yup. particular primates, lions, worms,swans, penguins, many others have shown habit. some comparable intercourse animals bond for existence. not uncommon to discover particular species of birds with as much as 30% of the inhabitants to be gay!

From what Í've read, it's more about ignorance than about preference with animals.

To them (and not all of them) a hole is a hole is a hole.

They don't know the difference.

Human's are the only animal that makes the conscious decision.

Nope. Animals have the natural instinct to reproduce so they seek out a mate of opposite sex. There are so many humans around that we don't need to reproduce to keep our species around and we don't have as many natural instincts as animals do.
