Math : Find three consecutive even integers such that the sum of the smallest and largest is 36.

x + (x + 4) = 36
x + x + 4 = 36
2x + 4 = 36
2x = 32
x = 16

The numbers are 16, 18, and 20

the consecutive even integers are...... n,n+2 and n+4
n,(n+2),(n+4)
where n + (n+4) = 36
2n + 4 = 36
2n = 36-4
2n = 32
n = 32/2
n = 16

the even integers are 16,18 and 20
smallest no. is 16 and the largest no. is 20
giving you a sum of 36

integers are n, n+2 & n+4
n+n+4=36
2n=32
n=16
integers are 16, 18, 2016+20=36

X+X+2=36.

2X=34.

X is 17.
