There was a highly developed civilisation in place before the Aryans came to India. When they repulsed them down South, they occupied the settlements left behind by them.

The Aryans seem to have influenced and populated many places. Even the names of some nations are from the Aryans. Just to name two are Ireland (Eire, or Erin) and Iran.

My guess is that 1) they saw the potential of the land that it may produce crops 2) they have been out in the sea for too long 3) India appear to be civilised place to stay :)

the aryans were not only settled in India they were all over asia they had driven out other tribes and commnuties from here as they wanted it to be thers.....
