I walk up to the door, ring the bell or knock, seconds before I've taken a small wad of paper towel and placed it in my mouth. When they answer the door, I act like I throw up and spit the ball out.
Freaks people out. No mess. Not Illegal.

dress up like a scarecrow, sit on a chair on your porch, and look like a decoration. when they walk up, just say hi, or jump out at them. it will scare them silly.
