I am 18; my IQ is 136. [I am assuming you understand principles of algebra]:
IQ = mental age ÷ physical age x 100
136 ÷ 100 = mental age ÷ 18
1.36 = mental age ÷ 18
1.36 x 18 = mental age
24.48 = mental age
Mentally I am 24.48 years old

I am pleased that many people here get my point IQ does not measure intelligence because it does not take in enough factors.
Mental age is again an average so if you are 18 and have a mental age of 25 this does NOT mean you are as smart as any 25 year old!

The principles of algebra I refer to are those for reiterating expressions so that the subject of the expression is changed:
if: y = a x b
then a = y ÷ b
As for brackets the formula I posted is part of an iterative logical expression it is taken from a program written in Java and is assumed that the expression is evaluated left to right with priority given to the dividing expression before the multiplication
For this reason brackets are not needed but if you want to be that picky:
IQ = (mental age ÷ physical age) x 100

The IQ test is an unsound test scientifically as you are merely comparing your intelligence that that of another.

This formula and concept of mental age is used FOR CHILDREN. It doesn't mean anything to say that an 18 year old like myself has an mental age of 25. The concept of the mental age is more meaningful the younger the child is; it means more to say that an 5 year old has the mind of a 10 year old than it does to say that a 15 year old has the mind of a 20 year old. By mind I mean cognitive capacity, not emotional maturity, which has little to do with intelligence. By the age of 18, cognitive development has leveled- off, so it no longer makes sense to speak of a ratio IQ and instead a percentile IQ is used to measure intellectual ability. A percentile IQ is simply an arbitrarily assigned IQ value to a certain percentile score on an IQ test; for example, an 80 percentile score may correspond to an IQ of 125.

You went about it in a long-winded way, didn't you? Why make it look so complicated?
Wouldn't it have been easier to just put:
Age: 18. IQ: 136.
136 (IQ) divided by 100 equals 1.36
1.36 multiplied by 18 (age) equals 24.48
24.48 is your mental age.
Simple!
My answer, by the way, is:
Age: 29. IQ: 129. Mental age: 37.41.
I guess that means instead of being in the prime of my life, I'm actually a pedantic old fart...

I have not taken an IQ test. Is there a site which I may visit
for a free test. I believe apart from intelligent rating, they
should also formulate something combined with emotional

(1.46)(39) = mental age
