I've got a 1 minute speech to present tomorrow on foreign aid, and I need some information (statistics) and persuasive arguments and opinions for me to decide which side I'm on, as well as to help me out along the way of writing it. So, should the US Government continue to supply other nations with foreign aid, or not?

i think it is important that we continue financial aid...because it improves relations with other nations...so many are so against American involvement in other countries..but honestly i think were trying our best...its important as a world power to step up and help those less fortunate....yes there are times when it is most important to think of our own well being...but i think our gov is doing a great job balancing our priorities...

It would require a lot more time and space to give you what you need tonight.

The short version is this: With out a doubt, the United States should assist those countries large or small with all the aid we can afford with one stipulation. They should support us!

We all know that Venezuela needs our help, but Hugo thinks we are arrogant and are trying to kill him. I hear a minimum of 60% plus of the population disagrees with him... They need to take care of that situation if they want our help. And no, we should not supply them with arms, we've already been that route.

On the other side of the coin, I'm pretty sure most of the suffering population in Darfur, are probably wondering where we are. Or for that matter, where the rest of the world is.

Perplexing conditions that need the finest of diplomacy available. Can we do it? Should we, is the real question and one you will have to answer tomorrow.

All foreign aid should be eliminated, since there is no Constitutional provision for taking money from the American people, and giving it to foreign governments. Once again, you can thank your politicians for stealing from you, and increasing hatred for our nation, around the world.
