From the male perspective, any woman that wears a 3.75 inch heel gets a high grade in my book. Combine that with a short skirt and you will really be looking great!

I love slingbacks too. They are sexier than regular pumps, still demure enough for daytime, and can easily be worn for evening wear. "Day to Evening" styles are my favorites; you aren't limited in what you can wear them with, or where you can wear them to.
If you like them, then wear them. Ignore what your friends think, you aren't asking them to wear the shoes. When they make a comment, just say "Well, that's your opinion. I happen to like them." Let them know that they don't have to like everything in your closet any more than you need to approve of everything in theirs. Also point out to them that while another style may be hotter to them, they probably couldn't wear it to work, while you can go from the office to a club without changing shoes.

slingbacks are sexy and professional at the same time and can be worn with jeans or business suits. try stores like macy's, aldo, nine west, dsw, and just about any online shoe store is bound to have similar pairs

I've seen slingbacks that I like better. They aren't for your friends or anyone on Y! Answers, so if you like them then get them.

depends on how old u r! if ur like 24-39 then ya i would buy it, but if ur an old granny or only 15-18, then they'll look really ugly

Those shoes didn't do anything for me. Where most women go gaga for shoes and purses, I'd much rather have matching bras and thongs.

Prefer stiletto's. Its what suits YOU. you can pull of wearing a bin liner if you make it look good and feel confident in it. Maybe your friends like sling backs but they know they dont suit them.

If I could walk in them, id love them, but I prefer wedge heels. I like them tho.
