I am astonished at the level of ignorance in many of the answers! Global warming is not validated OR invalidated by any single day's weather. Period.
Why not first try to understand the concept, and then argue the merits of the evidence. NO ONE in the field would suggest that a single day, or even a single season of warming or cooling confirms the hypothesis.
Or are you so politically knee-jerking that any concept associated with Al Gore is automatically wrong? Whew!!!

Al Gore is an entertainer like the a number of radio hosts available. What our worldwide is going through is a organic prosess and there is not any concrete evidence one way or yet another whether or no longer we are at fault for worldwide warming. specific we are warming up yet this could be a cycly as did take place till now throughout the ice age.

So incredible warming trends around the world aren't enough for you? I guess your view of the world is circumscribed by your little computer monitor, little tv and whatever other little things you grab onto.

Wouldn't it be nice if oh, I don't know, triple digit IQ scores were required to get on Yahoo Answers?

It sure seems you'd be shy by about 5-3 digits. Check back with me when you complete the math.

By the way, you honestly believe a terrorist protection system that doesn't include protecting New York from private planes is adequate? Step to the head of the line ... of your twit's administration that is...

Well now, you MUST be a climatologist with such extensive knowledge of the multitude of factors that make up the phenomenon "Global warming" In all actuality, strange-- freakish even, weather events are part and parcel of the symptoms of global warming, changed air currents (such as that abnormally southern shift the Arctic Jet stream took) are becoming more frequent, as are abnormally warm air currents that shift northward on occasion. If you actually read about global warming, you might understand that the term is not the sum of the whole. It is just a coined term to describe the END result of the combination of symptoms.

Look at this weeks Time magazine. I has a study of photographs from the beginning of this century matched with photos taken on the same day of a current year at the same location. It is easy to see that trees are leafing out weeks earlier.

This kind of rapid shifting of the schedule of a plants life can leave it pollinating before the insect pollinators are grown.

Nobody said global warming would stop snow from falling. That is your own ignorance you've put on display here in Answers...yet again.

Global warming is very real. Virtually every scientist who is not at the employ of a corporation that has a vested interest in denying it admits to some global warming effects. Global warming brings about climate change. Climactic systems are very complex. It doesn't mean it will be warmer every day everywhere. It does, however, mean a tendency to warmer climates.
Inuit who have been living in the arctic for hundreds of years have started noticing an accelerated melting of the ice floats and are very concerned for the survival of the game they depend on. Hurricane season in Asia and the Caribbean have become more violent and the sea levels have risen.
It is incredibly irresponsible and short-sighted for business-friendly politicians to ignore the problem for short term gain.

Why is it that only idiots confuse weather with climate? And that most of those idiots who can't understand science are Republicans?

(And don't say they don't - because you just did - and a couple months ago it was saying that because in Kansas it got up to 113 degrees back in the dust bowl days, THAT was the hottest year on record. Nevermind that it's about world average temperatures - not about a particularly hot day in Kansas.)

I hate people who think politics and science are the same thing. You dumb down America and you're the reason our grandchildren are all going to hate us.

Global warming is not a joke. Just because it is getting hotter, doesn't mean that certain parts of the country couldn't have bitterly cold winters. It's not the Sun blowing up. Its just burning up all the good stuff that regulates our weather. We haven't been good stewarts of this earth. Makes sense that eventually we will get called on it.

Did you hear that some group (Dutch I think) has proposed International War Crimes Trials for those that deny man caused global warming..... Interesting how the left wants to treat any kind of disagreement with their way of thinking.

nor do you really care. But here's a stab at your intellect anyways as futile as it will be I am sure....

Do we need new laws requiring industry to cut emissions of global warming pollution?
Yes. The Bush administration is promoting an initiative in which energy companies cut emissions only if they choose to do so. As the past 10 years have clearly shown, though, voluntary programs do not stop the growth of emissions. Proposals to cap emissions of carbon dioxide and other heat-trapping pollutants from America's largest sources -- power plants, industrial facilities, and transportation fuels -- are gaining support in Congress.

Stricter efficiency requirements for electric appliances will also help reduce pollution. One example is the 30 percent tighter standard now in place for home central air conditioners and heat pumps, a Clinton-era achievement that will prevent the emission of 51 million metric tons of carbon -- the equivalent of taking 34 million cars off the road for one year. The new rule survived a Bush administration effort to weaken it when, in January 2004, a federal court sided with an NRDC-led coalition and reversed the administration's rollback.
