Ueno Park. Food, entertainment and culture all in one place.

Rodin's "Gates of Hell" just outside the Museum of Western Art.

I also quite enjoyed Yasukuni Shrine, and not because of the misguided attempts to portray the PM as a glorifier of war criminals. It's the Japanese version of Arlington National Cemetetary and has a lovely museum in it. very moving.

I agree with Shibuya if they are younger than 30. Also dont forget Shimokitazawa. Make sure they go to the Metropolitan government building for the view and Akihabara. Ueno is near and the Zoo and park are nice to see. Drinks at night in Odaiba facing the rainbow bridge, and Roppongi just to see craziness on a Saturday night!!!

Roppongi, Shinjuku, Shibuya. There are so many clubs for your friends to choose from in those three cities alone. For the techies, Akihabara is a great place. Ginza is good for getting souvenirs.

I love Tsukishima!
Of course I'm not much of a reference because I'm Japanese but still I think they will enjoy it.
Monja is fun to eat if they like it and also they have the Monja Yakata Bune.
I think it was like 2 hrs all you can eat monja on the boat for like 5000 yen. It's not cheap but it's worth it!

Yanaka area from Nishi-Nippori to Ueno. Great area filled with temples, shrines, cemetary, a golden kwannon statue, old shitamachi houses

I love Shibuya. Whenever I had overseas guests, I would take them there, and they always loved it. So much to see, good food, they can't believe the crowds, and the Shibuya girls and boys, too. Plus they can walk on over to Harajuku and down Omote Sando, too. It's a whole day easy..

Ueno Park for nature's view! Shinjuku and Ginza for entertainment! Perhaps nearby shrines and temples? I love the shrines and temples...
