Why do preps pick on emo people like me. I mean they think that they are better than everyone. And that pink ugh. I just wish people would leave us alone. We got feelings. And rap IT SUCKS!!!! I don't know how our music can be scary. Emo and punk and goth music has meanings. It doesn't relate to guns or rape or anything. Can people explain to me?

First of all, I am assuming you are in hs or middle school. Nobody likes anybody then or cares that people have feelings. Your friends are the only people who should matter. My best advice although difficult (i know) is just to ignore the picking on, people who pick on other people do not deserve attention. Secondly as far as music goes, before you judge someone else's choice, why don't you actually listen to it. I am a huge fan of Emo, Punk, Indie music. But I also really enjoy other types of music, including rap (which is not about guns/rape 95% of the time.) If you ever looked at who your favorite bands listen too and are influnced by, there is a good chance they don't listen to just emo/punk/goth. See what is out there musically before you decide a song or genre has no meaning.

Im a prep and i would never pick on an emo kid! My boyfriend is emo and he loves that music and I like it to. I'm not very fond of rap but I like eminem that's all. Emo is cool but it's not something I would do. It's just an interest people have so you're really no different then the rest of us, you just have different interests. There are preps that will pick on emo kids but they're all those stuck up byotches!! They're evil.

I find it incredibly immature that anyone bothers dividing and classifyig themselves as this or that, as if you're actually any different to begin with, and then actually spending itme and energy paying attention to it as if it were a relevant or meaningful thing to do.
Be who you are, dont live in a box.
Pay attention to what life means to you-- what do you want to do in this world?
Where would you like to go? How will you find your happiness, and best express your true potential?
"I like X" or "I like Y" does not mean that you can identify yourself by that. Thats a very limiting thing to do....
Once you stop seeing the world this way, they will automatically leave you alone-- people can only communicate with each other when you both speak the same language.......think about it.

No, he/she cares if you are a good person, if you work hard and are disciplined, and educated-- and ANYONE can be those things or not, regardless of what they listen to!! So thinking divisively is NOT a step in the right direction.
So leave the narrow minded thinkers behind in the dust!

Ok, i have freinds who are emo and goth, and i also have freinds who are preps. I am really neither. But the preps tend to think that emo and goth people are scary cause they wear all black and tend to look suicidal and depressed and all that. I dont think music has to do with it, cuase at my school it mostly goes by your appearence. THey are different and it cause issues with the preps, really, thats all that is.

preppies feel the need to pick on people who are different and show any sense of rebellion to the sluttly clothes that are expected to be worn by americas teenagers. preppies are close minded bimbos, dont take their sh**. be your self and like the music you like to listen to. and to the person who asked what if he knows what emo means, it looks like your really preppy yourself and pick on goths, emos, and punks so i wouldent try to have any input in this if i were you

ppl are ignorant - they judge you based on what you wear, hear, and so on......only to find out that if you actually take the chance and truly have a conversation with someone - we are all looking for the same things...acceptence, respect, and love...
Be free to be who you are ----- but remember clothes and music will change with time, but your "soul" or "personality" will always be the same
