A great blues rock guitarist from Texas.
I loved his song Pride and Joy, slick.
I acually saw him the night before he died in the helicopter crash in Alpine Valley, Wisconsin.
Alpine Valley is an outdoor music theatre in rural southwestern Wisconsin. A popular place for people from Chicago where I am originally from.
We saw a double bill of Stevie Ray and Eric Clapton. Great concerts!
As we were walking back to our car it was incredibly foggy outside. The next night he died, his helicopter hit a ski lift and went down, thats how foggy it was.
I think Stevie Ray was one of the best technical rock guitarists ever, very clean and fast! He was able to play Voodoo Chile, by Hendrix note for note! That takes some real cahones to actually play that, as Hendrix was such a master!

Of course I know who Stevie Ray Vaughn was, who doesn't?

My favorite song is "Lenny", happens to be the nick name of my sister.

Cutter Brandenburg, Stevie Ray's early road manager, has a just released his NEW BOOK "You Can't Stop A Comet!", I hear that it's awesome. You can order it here:

He was a cheap imitation (sped up) of Albert King.
If you like Stevie Ray - you should check out anything by Albert King.Listen close & you'll hear EVERY SRV lick !!

One you graduate from Albert - Go check out Frddie King !!!!
