"Just a quick question? If I was to pick two types of criminal justice professionals (probation officer, parole officer) what will the the communication barriers these professionals may face when communicating with one another or with their clients. What are some possible strategies to overcome these barriers?"

There is no quick answer to your question.

And since it's against my basic code of ethics to do homework for people, I'll say this: Parole and probation officers are in the unenviable position of working as parts of large bureaucracies that often underfund their part of the system (the tale end of the criminal justice system between incarceration and recidivism). Communication systems, computer systems and organizational structures all suffer from the basic inferiorities inherent to the bottom of the figurative food chain.

And while probation officers and parole officers are sometimes dealing with people who want to straighten themselves out, more often than not it's schemers and malcontents who play the system to their advantage whenever possible. And in all cases, they are still dealing with convicted criminals. What kinds of communication is necessary to deal with a criminal element when you are a law enforcement/corrections officer? You have to take someone trained in law-and-order and basically get them to think like a crook.

It would probably help to get criminal-minded people to think more like socially responsible citizens-- but I think that's the whole point behind the corrections system....

Isn't probation something you get instead of punishment like incarceration and probation is something you have to do to be let out early and have to check in with your probation officer. I don't know what the barriers would be. I think it's a matter of do you want to be dealing with first time minor of fence criminals or do you prefer hardened criminals who maybe know the law as well as you do? Don't understand the question really?
