tim and date have to be reset eah time i restart the computer

i have the same computer, but have never had that problem. it seems i have had every problem except that one actually. the internal battery should protect the loss of info if you replace the external...and vice versa.
i'm not bill gates, however, i did stay at a holiday inn express last night!
