The Empire of Pontus.
It was called empire but it was just a part of the fallen Byzantine Empire (1453 AD) that survived for a few decades more.
Today, that region, it's a part of the north Turkey.

You might also check out the Central African Empire, which existed from 1976 to 1979. If Pontus isn't it, then the CAE probably is, although the Byzantine Empire, by the time of its collapse, pretty much included Constantinople and that's it.
