Never, i think it was better before, though somethings are better now. They used to have more principles in that time...

Fewer Mexicans and immoral Liberals, then.
No school massacres before prayer was banned in schools.
Kennedy and the Dems hadn't mired us in Vietnam and refused to let the soldiers win, yet.
No Affirmative Action or money wasted on bi-lingualism..
LBJ and RFK hadn't yet shredded the Constitution.
We drove big American care that, pre-NAFTA, were still Made In USA.

Well, just coming from the depression and all and then- horror! ;0) Rock-n-roll starts and all hell breaks loose! I think moralistically we might have been better- educationally we are better now. And I vote for a little romanticism and real dating and sex being a private wonderful thing again- even though much was happening then. Its always something, and it always seems to go from bad to worse to good and back again- hard judgement
